April 28 - April 30

28 - Left Wrightsville Beach, went through a pontoon bridge. The weather is cold, pulled out foul weather gear as a storm developed. In the early afternoon we tucked in to Spooner Creek to weather the storm, anchored and the sun came out. Enjoyed a quiet evening.

29 - Up early, headed short distance to Beaufort. Arrived about 9:00 a.m. Very accomodating to boaters. They have a town dock that you can tie up to for two hours, so we went in, did laundry and met our friends Ingrid and Dick Adams. They joined us on the boat for the weekend, we took them out to Shackelford Banks where we scoured the island, walking through sand, mud and horse apples. We were fortunate enough to see many of the wild horses inhabited on the island.

30 - Enjoyed our visit with the Adams. We went ashore and they took us shopping and visited the Beaufort Maritime Museum where we finally picked up our new GPS (had mail forwarded to the museum). It ended up having a lot more bells and whistles than we expected. Now we just have to figure out how to install it. Any electrical engineers out there?
